Gaggen Path gets its name from press gangs which used to hide here and then gag their victims. Today this steeply sloping path links the village of St Helens with the National Trust owned St Helens Duver, a sandy spit of land located on edge of Bembridge Harbour. Resurfacing works and a new bridge installed as part of the project have improved the navigability of this historic route. Keep an eye out for the Poulteney memorial stone by the bench located about half way down.
